Easter at Eastside - 2024

What really happened to Jesus from the Upper Room to the Empty Tomb? In this message, we will provide a harmony of the accounts given to us by the four gospel writers. From Thursday morning to Sunday morning, somewhere around 72 hours or more, we are given an emotional journey through the heart and passion of Jesus. The only appropriate response is the surrender of one’s life!

Last Words - Family

At the end of the day, when our time on this earth comes to an end, only two things matter. Where are you with Jesus and where are you with your family? Our Lord himself reflected that sentiment shortly before he breathed his last. He couldn’t leave this earth without knowing his own mother would be okay. If family meant that much to him in the end, it seems it should equally mean as much to us now.

Last Words - Paradise

Even on the cross Jesus never abandoned his mission. He came to save people from sin and get them to heaven. In what must have been a terribly agonizing moment of physical pain, Jesus turned his attention to an unlikely, future citizen of heaven. The thief on the cross can be any of our stories. Oh to hear those words welcoming us in paradise!

Separation of Church and Hate - We are Focused

Are you a “one-issue” voter, or maybe two or three?  Be careful, that’s dangerous.  Although tempting for Christians to hold strong on social values, let’s make sure we really know what is of the highest importance.  Sometimes really good things can become the enemy of the best things.  While American citizenship right now is debating their most important issues, let’s remember that a bowed knee to the only King should be the first and foremost focus of life.

Separation of Church and Hate - We are Humble

No one in history ever carried more value than Jesus Christ, but he poured it all out so that the value of others would rise above his own.  That’s why political campaigns are so weary to follow – no one does that.  While candidates are currently telling us why they are so much better than the losers running against them, let’s learn the power of a different approach.  Let’s learn what happens when you actually place the value of others above yourself.
